Fortifications Agency Seeks Experienced Visualizer

The Fortifications Agency is looking for an experienced visualizer for the newly established design unit. The mission of the Fortifications Agency is to meet the needs of the Armed Forces and defense-related authorities for suitable and secure properties. This means that we build, own, manage, and operate many different types of properties that our tenants use for their activities. The agency's headquarters is located in Eskilstuna, where the position will also be based.

The project department responsible for construction investments currently has about 160 employees and is divided into operational units as well as a project support unit, a staff unit, and a design unit.

The design unit is under establishment, and we are now looking for several different competencies to carry out the design of buildings and facilities in-house.

Your Daily Life as an Illustrator

As a project illustrator, you will work in a multidisciplinary team alongside architects, project managers, engineers, and land and installation engineers, supporting them with your expertise in 2D and 3D modeling that illustrates how future construction projects will look.

Your background and skills in communication, conceptualization, and 3D rendering should create an understanding of complex building and facility projects. This requires continuous teamwork across disciplinary boundaries as well as a great ability to translate ideas into visual messages.

As an illustrator, you will work with several different 3D software programs such as Autodesk 3D-Max, Twinmotion, and Adobe CC, where you support architects and engineers in creating insights into conceptual and technical solutions communicated through graphic design already in the early stages.

Complementary tasks that support the organization and the establishment of operations may also occur, and in your role, you will have many internal and external contacts. Travel within Sweden that can be planned will be included in the position. The position requires you to work 100% on-site in Eskilstuna.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with post-secondary education and several years of experience as an illustrator in architecture at all stages for complex projects. Your experience and understanding of spatiality, lighting, materials, the environment, and perspective are crucial for the position.

It is meritorious if you have skills and experience as a visual communicator in architectural competitions.

Your personal qualities are very important to us, and we will place great emphasis on personal suitability. We are looking for someone with a high security awareness.

For this role, you need to be technically skilled, communicative, collaborative, and have an unpretentious focus on the common goal. You are creative, responsive, and used to meeting deadlines and managing stress constructively.

The role requires very good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing, as well as good knowledge of English. A Class B driver's license is a requirement.
